Wiser Day on Earth

  • Earth

    • 1.

The earth is fundamentally a living house and garden – a place where every species learns particular ways of self-cultivation. Whilst the earth also likely cultivates itself, through the galactic furrows of the fields of space.

  • Earth Vehicle

    • 1.

We live our lives on earth, as it journeys through space. The earth is therefore our home as well as our galactic vehicle. Yet whilst travelling through the cosmos, many of us have been too fixated on the ground, and been busy destroying some of the eternally-travelled, pristine living spaces on board. We have forgotten the balancing, soul-attuning, boundless perspective that comes from simply gazing through the cabin window of our own horizon, to see the stars outside.

  • Economy

    • 1.

The perennial drive to boost the economy through the extraction of resources, along with the inequitable utilisation of human energy, are often espoused as being the most important elements of governing by many a political party or government. However, blatantly broadcasting their lack of priority for the welfare of people or the environment, reveals that such a political party or government has profoundly lost touch with humanity and the earth.

  • Ecstasy

    • 1.

Whenever we feel the ecstatic, shuddering, rising, wavelike, pins and needles of connection to life, nature or another being, we are likely feeling the truth of our soul’s connection to the unfolding of life.

  • Education

    • 1.

We are not being educated, if we are commanded, coerced, shamed or intimidated as a learner, and then compelled to remember, or to artificially regurgitate information at set times, such as during tests and exams. Rather, we are in fact being force-fed information, with the hope that it will stick in our minds. Or in other words, our minds are being structured in order to be conditioned. However the mind appears to be arranged in order to learn optimally from being consciously focused on largely practical life experiences that interests it. And to do this well, the mind requires a more free-flowing capability, rather than be forced upon with an overly set thinking style. Essentially, the mind wants to remain adaptable. Cicero said, “As you have sown, so shall you reap.” And therefore what is primarily and fundamentally sown in our minds as children and young adults, will predispose what we believe in, as well as influence what we ourselves add later, and will also determine what we reap in life. (Please see contemplations on Conditioning, Learning, Teacher, and Teaching).

  • Effect

    • 1.

The greater our insight and awareness of causes, the deeper our understanding of effects. In realising this, we can take more responsibility for ourselves, as well as develop appreciation, understanding and compassion for others.

  • Efficiency

    • 1.

Efficiency describes the most potent and prudential force to accomplish something. For human beings it is a concentrating focus of our energy and purpose, whether mentally, physically, or spiritually.

  • Ego

    • 1.

The ego appears to be a cloak of concealment of the observer soul, though somewhat imperfectly. Without it there would probably be no separation of the one into the many, no infinite play of forms, and no ongoing process of revelation.

  • Ego’s home

    • 1.

The contained yet radiant joy of some people, appears to be because they have embraced and largely encompassed their egos into a state of mindfulness, as well as heart-centred contentment, within their true nature, and therefore they live with a calm and knowing surety.

  • Elegance

    • 1.

Ultimately elegance is not a fashionable disposition, but rather a state of being in harmony with nature, or with our immediate environment. The following are some of the elements of elegance… (1) Mindfulness creates elegance. (2) With elegance we live in stillness. (3) We realise the subtlety of our senses and we use them more delicately. (4) We move with grace and dignity. (5) We speak what is appropriate. (6) We do what is simple and effective. (7) We choose to cultivate gentleness, harmony and beauty. (8) And therefore, elegance is the practice of aligning with the virtues of our true nature or soul.
