    Emotions, both those we label positive, as well as negative, I believe are generated from the stored, unresolved turmoil of the subconscious ego, or from negative conditioned thought, around largely unacknowledged issues of power and control. For the most part, emotions occur because of a semi-conscious, though somewhat chosen, often repetitive, negative mindset. Many would agree that such conditioning applies to negative emotions, but not to so-called positive emotions. However, I claim that emotions, whether negative or positive, have a similar foundation. I also believe that true or deep feelings are very different to emotions, and for example, that so-called positive emotions are always transient, for they arise from the ego expectation that things are going in our favour, yet things can often change, and positive emotions usually become dashed. This view of emotions, and the differentiation I place on feelings, may cause some readers to have an emotional response.     At those times we are experiencing an emotion which ideally we would not choose, we can change the emotional state by doing the following exercise in a safe space; simply standing with our eyes closed, arms by our sides, and start to slightly sway our body, yet with our head swaying somewhat independently. After only a couple of minutes and before the swaying naturally subsides, the exercise appears to balance our physical, mental and emotional state. Often towards the end, we may experience a goosebump sensation. However, if the emotion has affected us deeply, or we continue to mull it over, we may need to repeat the exercise at a later time.
