Wiser Day on Earth

  • Labelling

    • 1.

Behind any disapproving label we dispense about another, for example critical or offensive terms about another’s race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, disfigurement, physical appearance, intelligence, and so on, there is inevitably a deeper, irrationally conditioned fear of difference. Once we focus with awareness on this irrationally conditioned fear that is motivating the label, we can begin to bring our ignorance to a realisation and change of awareness.

  • Language

    • 1.

Our use of language reflects the makeup of our individual consciousness. Being mindful creates an economy and simplicity of language, which also illuminates our inherent wisdom.

  • Late

    • 1.

Normally people do not plan to be late, although we may typically accuse others as if their lateness was purposefully devised. On the other hand, perpetual lateness appears to be more subconsciously contrived.

  • Laughter

    • 1.

Well-founded laughter, like love, kindness, generosity, good food and so on, is a life-making, health-giving, stress-releasing, and universally connecting bond to other human beings. This bond inspires, as well as confirms our human unity. (Please see contemplations on Connection and Humour).

  • Law

    • 1.

A charter of true law becomes legitimised through the actions it cultivates; namely peace, love and truth. When law becomes dogma and a medium for oppression, it is no longer law but an instrument of disorder and a mechanism for the anarchy from which it purports to be defending the righteous from.

If we regard the laws of the state as our primary source of truth, freedom, morality and justice, we will sooner or later become oppressed by the state, lose our liberty, and end up in tyranny.

  • Lazy

    • 1.

Being contentedly lazy and at ease, rather than always having to be productive, is surely one of life’s greatest pleasures. When we relax into the natural, background ambience of the moment, we may feel the comforting rapture of life’s deep presence.

  • Learning

    • 1.

Learning guides us in a creative, rhythmical, responsive and expansive relationship with ourselves, into a selflessly open and discoverable universe. (Please see contemplations on Education, Teacher, and Teaching).

  • Left out

    • 1.

Sometimes we may see ourselves as being on the outside, perhaps locked out by others. In such situations, our primary quest is to embrace more highly, above and beyond the others.

  • Lessons

    • 1.

If we believe that we live in a providential and compassionate universe, then all the lessons of our lives are appropriate to our current stage of development.

  • Liberty

    • 1.

Whenever we feel a sense of liberty, we are opening to a more bountiful, wholehearted world, where truth is increasing and is more readily present.
