Wiser Day on Earth

  • Jealousy

    • 1.

We are more likely to suffer jealousy when we intensely focus our emotive needs through another. The other is seen to have the key to fulfilment. It is an abandoning of our true nature, responsibility and self-care.

  • Joy

    • 1.

Joy cannot be enclosed within the finite ego; it seems to radiantly overflow. And neither perhaps can earth contain it, or sky, or stars. Joy appears to be infinite, yet it is either visible or mysteriously veiled, so it may not always be apparent, and largely depends upon the beholders perspective. Joy is perhaps the most present state of the present. Joy calls to us, for it wants us to live with a sparkling spirit. Deeply we somehow know that such ineffable joy exists. Accordingly, joy points beyond all worldly affairs, for sooner or later, all worldly affairs fail to live up to the desire we have, of seeking joyful happiness from within them. How then do we reach such joy? If joy is within as well as without, it is surely available. If joy is everywhere, then it is a prime; a prime essence and fabric of the universe. Yet much of humanity live to a great extent without it. Perhaps we are not truly seeing what is before us, or knowing what is truly within us. Perhaps we are simply not considering, or choosing to see, or to know an ultimate truth.

  • Judgment

    • 1.

Judgment without compassion is worthless, arrogant, and vain.

  • Judgmental

    • 1.

During those times we find ourselves being intolerant, opinionated, or judgmental to others, then a simple mindful response that I have found useful, is to say interiorly, “Let others live.” This immediately brings a more compassionate, non-judgmental response from within us. (Please see contemplations on Judgment).

  • Justice

    • 1.

From the greater perspective, beyond small, limited ego states, justice is primarily a life lesson regarding awareness, love and compassion, rather than right and wrong.

  • Justification

    • 1.

Whenever we justify ourselves, we are attempting to defend our inner self; we are attempting to shield it from what we perceive to be the forces of external aggression that appear to want to defeat it. But we may also be shoring up, fortifying the barriers, and not allowing the liberation that comes with exposure, illumination, and its consequent healing and return to wholeness.
