Self
- 1.
The internalised sense we have of our self, which if observed when alone, or particularly during the evening in bed, is largely confined to the sense perceptions of sight, sound, smell, taste and touch. It is as if, our sense of self lives in a confined house of consciousness, receiving localised sensory inputs through particular windows of experience, which are then gathered into a centralised receiving room, where they generally mingle with either reactive or creative thought. It is a room that we automatically return to, time and time again, where we habitually experience our own mental and emotional proclivities. But what if there were other rooms? Rooms with far greater consciousness and levels of awareness? Occasionally we may experience space-time shifts in consciousness, through transcendental, blissful, or ecstatic experiences. We then realise that we are far greater than our usual consciousness, living in a small, isolated, sensory thought room, experiencing a localised world-view. Generally we do not know or realise that we live our lives from such a confined space, but just knowing this, may perhaps result in our exploring new perspectives, and beginning a journey towards some form of liberation and greater awareness.

Self-Abandon
- 1.
We become self-abandoned when we love from our true nature, without the egocentric awareness of doing so. When we immerse ourselves in this love, the ego tends to be eclipsed.
Self-Assurance
- 1.
Genuine self-assurance (as well as self-determination, self-esteem, self-healing, self-knowledge or self-will) arises from the security of being aligned with our true nature, and its coherent wisdom, rather than from social, educational or commercial success.

Self-Conscious
- 1.
Self-consciousness brings to the surface the latent subconscious fears we harbour, that we may then have greater awareness of them and begin to heal. Self-consciousness breaks through our usual composure in order to make apparent our inner residual turmoil. When we are self-conscious, we are more connected to our turmoil than to the source of our true nature. Self-consciousness is a process of the negative ego, the self that is isolated in the presence of others. The self that wonders is it good enough?

Self-Created
- 1.
Each of us, by the manner in which we live, decides the very world we live in. If we want to live in a world of truth, peace and love, we are obliged to live this way in our daily life, that we may create it. We cannot demand that others give it to us.

Self-Deception
- 1.
If we have lived a life of self-deception, by keeping up a facade, as well as following the rules and being overly dictated by societal conditioning, then self-awareness, as well as true awareness of others and their views, or of an empathic life or spiritual awareness, will likely not come easily.

Self-Deprecation
- 1.
By overly exposing our emotional vulnerability to others, we may experience disappointment, as they in turn, either expose us further, or overly commiserate with our vulnerability. Deep down, this can leave us with a sense of regret at our own level of self-deprecation, because it does not create the approval or contentment we are looking for, and neither does it resonate with our true nature.
Self-Doubt
- 1.
The greatest personal enemy is within the ego and appears as our own self-doubt. And because the ego is not the foundation of our conscious awareness, or where we come from, it naturally carries doubt if we attempt to place the authenticity of our whole nature within it.
Self-Esteem
- 1.
We have all experienced happiness or a spontaneous joy or peace in life. Our self-esteem was naturally high during these times, when we were truly present, and naturally radiating love. When we radiate love, our self-esteem is effortlessly present.
