Sarcasm is largely a form of self-righteousness. It inflates the ego and the view of the one being sarcastic, by ridiculing and demeaning the object of sarcasm. However, sometimes it is used by people who are repressed, as a tool against their oppressors, and therefore it may have been useful in helping to eventually create an environment for liberation. Yet sarcasm is never the truth. It is far too disconnected, blaming and lacking in self-responsibility.
