  • Neutral

    • 1.

If we regard the internal, human state of neutral as being healthy, calm, peaceful, open, non-opinionated, non-reactive, and honourable, then deep down we know how to respond to others and to life with a healthy equanimity. However, if we are overly sensitive, emotional, stressed, prejudiced, intoxicated in any way, overly passionate, liable to project onto others, or already set to be reactive from previous situations and so on, then rather than starting from neutral or zero on a scale of one to ten, we will be starting higher up the scale, and will therefore be more prone to reactive and exaggerated responses. On the other hand, if we have an agenda, we may start with either a minus or a higher number, depending on our bias or inclination. The obvious remedy is for us to return to neutral, and to the state of our true nature. (Please see contemplations on True Nature).

  • Nine at Nine

    • 1.

During many hundreds if not thousands of years, humanity has been told and been conditioned by various so-called authorities, to believe that we are sinful, warfaring, self-centred, greedy, and so on. And although we have largely come to believe these authorities, this is not the truth. Such a negative view is not borne out by ancient tribal teachings, modern scientific enquiry, or even our own everyday observations that look beyond routines and daily stresses. Rather, it can be seen that ultimately, all humanity, all life, and all things, are deeply connected. If we truly begin to recognise our connection, then the earth will become a planet of (h)eart(h) once again. And those coercive, demeaning authorities will lose their control. Perhaps we could begin to reconnect at 9am and 9pm each day, with a 9 minute (or 10 minute or so) prayer-meditation, that radiates our love to all humanity, to all creatures, and to the earth itself. (Please see contemplations on Separation 4, Media 2 and all contemplations on Consciousness).

  • No

    • 1.

If we were to regard “no” as not being a denial of our existence, but as indicating “yes” in another or opposite direction, then “no” would lose its sting of rejection.

During those calm times we have no thought, we can experience the peace and contentment of our true nature, in the love realm of the timeless present.

  • Noble Companion

    • 1.

The noble companion (our true nature or observer soul) seems to be always present, though it may be in the background, and therefore being fully present, lives in the fullness of love, truth and innocence. From such consciousness, the noble companion most likely possesses infinite awareness and understanding. Consequently the noble companion would be an unfailing friend to the ego and its experiences. (Please see contemplations on Soul).
