| Neediness

Neediness is often an anxious diversion from the immense and all encompassing, yet subtle state of our true nature. If we eat when we are not hungry; do for the sake of doing; desire love and sex to fill our emptiness; want the company of others to assuage loneliness; take drugs to avoid ourselves – then we are creating a distraction from the present and from what we fear is the dark void of our inner state, which in reality is inherently our deepest abode of awareness, peace and fulfilment. The fundamental call underneath such longings is for us to enter a state of being, rather than of seeking or doing.
