  • Achilles Heel

    • 1.

The forces of balance inherent in life will sooner or later find our Achilles heel, in order that we may have awareness of it, give it attention, seek understanding, and finally bring healing.

  • Acknowledgement

    • 1.

To truly acknowledge another human being, is to acknowledge the fundamental truth of their existence. It is the supreme welcome we all deeply desire. However if others do not acknowledge us, we need to remember that our observer soul is an ongoing witness.

  • Action

    • 1.

When we largely act from our ego mind, we tend to experience things like self-centredness, fear, conquest and forgetfulness. When we largely act from our stomach, there can often be greed, distaste and forgetfulness. When we largely act from our genitals, there tends to be more lust, disgust and forgetfulness. When we act from our heart, there is an awakening, a remembrance, and an invitation to love. When we act from our true nature, there is only love.

  • Adamant

    • 1.

Being stubbornly adamant about our opinion whilst refusing to listen to, or acknowledge others, will leave us holding rigid, inflexible views that also harden our ego into self-righteousness, which separates us from others. Consequently those who live with greater awareness realise that being stubbornly adamant is also self-defeating.

  • Addiction

    • 1.

Any addiction falsely feeds us. Addiction occurs whenever we lose touch with the fullness of present moment consciousness to the addictive substance or process outside of ourselves. Addiction appears to be a compensatory action for the loss of life’s meaning. Our inner meaning, and therefore our place here, has become doubted. For support with substance abuse and addiction please phone your local helpline.

  • Adversity

    • 1.

The first and most important thing to remember in the face of adversity, is that we are an original bloom of infinite expression, and therefore greater than all adversity. It is an opportune time to embrace our deeper, intuitive truth and understanding.

At times of adversity, rather than fall into fear and anxiety, if we can undertake acts of kindness, then fear and anxiety are instantly reduced.

  • Advertising

    • 1.

The last few generations have been sold a commercial advertiser’s dream. We now value brand names, and we advertise those brand names even on the clothes we wear, or the accessories we carry, whilst paying excessively for the so-called privilege. We value gimmickry, such as the smaller the gadget, the more exclusive. The wealthier sounding a business or educational name, the more prestige. And even the commercial name association with sports is somehow supposed to confer glamour, exclusivity, power and potency. The endorsements of the stars to particular products are also supposed to be related to their success. However the commercialisation by businesses of the hard work of human beings, has become a parasite on their successful endeavours.

  • Advice

    • 1.

The more definite our advice to others, then usually the more ego we have invested in our advice, along with perhaps an investment in the outcome. Everyone is sensitive; few like to be told advice unless they are in crisis. Therefore it is preferable to only make suggestions. Definite advice spoken from the ego, rarely sounds right to either the speaker or the listener. It makes one sound like the Teacher – superior, and the other the Student – inferior. Perhaps we need to formulate our communication with greater integrity, so that there is equality of purpose in both giving and receiving.

  • Aesthetics

    • 1.

Aesthetics are aligned with the will of beauty. They unashamedly gain the attention of our deep feelings, and carry us with reverence into the sacred dominion of our heart and soul.

  • Affirming

    • 1.

At those times we mentally force ourselves to instil new subconscious patterns, our daily conscious mind (which is doing the forcing) may not fully believe in these new thoughts, and create an underlying thought of rejection. The forcing may reinforce the deeper thought, that we have not got this now, and therefore such forcing is indicative of our anxiety. It may instead be more useful to focus on our receptivity. To feel that if these new thoughts are for our highest good, then they can truthfully be ours, and therefore to gently accept, yield, and rest in this recognition.
