  • Discipline

    • 1.

Discipline helps create self-control of the ego, so that our energy can then be directed towards skill, fulfilment and realisation of our true nature, and consequently an awareness of all life.

  • Discomfort

    • 1.

The level of discomfort we allow in our minds, bodies and surroundings is largely an indicator of our self-esteem, and therefore how willing we are to take action and make change.

  • Disconnected

    • 1.

There appear to be two paradoxically different ways that we can be disconnected. One is when we consciously observe our own disconnected, limited ego, from the greater perspective of our present senses and true nature, whilst the other is when we are subconsciously lost within our seemingly large ego, with its burdens and associated emotions, and therefore disconnected from our present senses or true nature.

  • Discord

    • 1.

Whenever we experience discord of mind, speech or action, ultimately in its rippling wake we are learning more about concordance.

  • Discouragement

    • 1.

Discouragement can cause a lowering of our spirit and energy, yet it can also sometimes strengthen us, by balancing our approach to an intended goal.

  • Discovery

    • 1.

Not allowing ourselves to be open, dream or imagine beyond the confines of our present conditioning, knowledge or science, means that we will probably not be in the forefront, or be open to discussing or considering new discoveries.

  • Discussion

    • 1.

Amongst those who are truly free (principally of their own mental and emotional conditioning and limitations) any subject can be discussed with ease. (Please see contemplations on Conversation and Communication).

  • Disease

    • 1.

Disease appears to be a disturbance of the ego, body and mind. This disturbance seems at least in part to result from the forgetting of our true nature, or from living in an environment where this is reflected, as well as our susceptibility to absorbing it. However, predominantly disease points in an opposite direction towards health and wholeness, and therefore somewhat paradoxically, disease can also be the beginning of learning how to return to our true nature and health. (Please see contemplations on Healing and Health).

  • Dishonesty

    • 1.

Without genuine self-love, and consequently without love of others, there can be little or no trust, and therefore little basis for truth. And so in such conditions, dishonesty is more likely to become a convenient, predisposed response. (Please see contemplations on Honesty).

  • Disillusion

    • 1.

The state of disillusionment – that is, no longer being able or prepared to accept an illusion – can be the igniting of a flame that illuminates a new and sometimes deeper awareness and understanding.
