Surface Issues
- 1.
If deep down our souls are all enlightened, then the surface issues between us are only the act of ego assertion, attraction and repression. And therefore to see others as a result of seeing only this play, and to place greater importance on this performance, is to believe more in the ego and less in the enlightened soul.
Surrender
- 1.
In honestly and authentically surrendering, we render our claim to what we are possessing (which for the most part is the giving up of a state of self-serving, ego mind). In the process we open and are softened, and we regain the grace of innocence, compassion and humanity.

Survival
- 1.
It is patently obvious that all species try to survive when human beings or other animals try to injure or kill them. From an ant to a fish, to a cow and so on. The urge to survive is supreme, and for most it is unceasing, whilst at the same time, attempting to withstand all antagonistic forces. The love for life is a force that all human beings are familiar with. And yet we largely deny the knowledge of this love for life in other species.
Suspicion
- 1.
We must not forget that suspicions are also guesses based on beliefs. These beliefs usually arise from a prior conception around some sort of loss, which also creates a tendency for us to emote doubt and distrust of others, from where we believe them to be guilty. Truth can then become a commodity to be fought over and possessed, so that even the truth may be regarded suspiciously.

Symbols
- 1.
A potent symbol is an external image that embodies the axiomatic principle of the thing it represents. It becomes the gateway to a core belief, the knowledge of which causes its believers to unite behind.
Sympathy
- 1.
To fully sense and know the pain of another in our own heart and conscience does not seem truly attainable. And yet if we overly identify with commiserations of pity, worry or anger, we may encourage their anguish whilst also being unable to offer the clarity of an objective discernment. However, a non-possessive, loving sensitivity can allow us to respond with equanimity. Such equanimity not only helps others to integrate their suffering, but can also help to transform the way we view our own pain and longings.

Symptoms
- 1.
Any kind of symptoms, be they mental, emotional, bodily or environmental, are not created to oppress us. They are not there to be worried about, feared over, or to seek sympathy from in others. They are there as directors to do something, to try again, and to contemplate what it is that our body/mind or earth is attempting to teach us through these symptoms.
