    • 1.

It is preferable that our preoccupations do not interfere with our humanity.

  • Presence

    • 1.

Presence induces the state of being, and similarly being, induces presence. They are synonymous.

  • Present

    • 1.

In the present, we receive life and create with each breath. Knowing this, surely our calling is to become mindfully aware, both allowing and facilitating the forces of life to naturally cohere.

  • Prestige

    • 1.

The prestige and power of being a celebrity, or a Doctor, Lawyer, Scientist, Professor, Engineer, Chief Executive, and so on, and having an inflated idea of oneself, is quite probably a hindrance to having a deeper understanding of oneself, and consequently of the perceived worth of others.

  • Presupposition

    • 1.

The following presupposition may be a useful, aware, liberating, and truthful position to adopt before a debate or argument: “This is my view, but ultimately, I do not know it all.”

      ***

  • Pretence

    • 1.

Pretence is conditional upon there being a lack of truth, which is a result of little or no love. Whereas honesty is conditional upon there being a love of truth, which rules out pretence.

  • Pride

    • 1.

If our pride is based on ego-fantasy or ego-achievement, we will experience a changing, tempestuous sense of our self-worth. Genuine, unassumed pride is more deeply based in the nobility, honour and dignity of our true nature.

  • Principle

    • 1.

A principle implies that our actions are guided by the very highest understanding of love and truth. However, when presenting a point, if we insist, “It is the principle of the matter.” It may not be a principle at all, but perhaps our own stubborn refusal, to move away from old dogma.

  • Priority

    • 1.

Essentially, we give priority to what we believe is most important to us. Therefore if we have not given priority to something, especially something that we profess is important to us, then our lack of action betrays our deeper attitude towards it.

  • Privacy

    • 1.

Privacy is founded on the belief that particular material things and activities are exclusive and belong to the individual. However, it will be increasingly difficult to protect the freedom of certain aspects of privacy in the face of ever-expanding information gathering and exchange. We need to define for ourselves what is most private. Clearly, the more we wish to conceal, the more our need for privacy. This calls for us to look at our raison d’etre, in order to specify our reasons for concealing, and whether these grounds are our best option. In the end we discover that the only thing that does belong to us is our own internal experience, which is always private, no matter how well we convey it.
