Intellectual
- 1.
A true Intellectual will tend to look from other and often greater coherent views or larger perspectives than blindly follow conditioned education, mainstream views, or uphold the status quo. This is surely what it means to be an independent, unique thinker. Furthermore this also means that barring issues of partisanship, those rare, true intellectuals are often at odds privately or publicly, with mainstream views and institutions.
Intellectual Honesty
- 1.
Because of the prevalence of conditioned beliefs given to us through such things as our educational systems, as well as generational and family conditioning, religious conditioning, scientific conditioning and so on, there can often be a blind loyalty to uphold such conditioning, which can create closed mindedness to other views, and therefore a form of intellectual dishonesty, one-upmanship or snobbery can result. If we are to be intellectually honest, it requires of us to be open, and to have balanced self-esteem, so that we can listen to, or admit both higher and lower views than our own, and with a sense of curiosity and wonder, rather than hold firmly to habitually conditioned, closed, sceptical or even sarcastic views.

Intellectual Snobbery
- 1.
Intellectual snobbery is really a form of self-righteousness. The other is regarded as an opponent to be defeated, but the defeat is usually brought about through control, rather than through openness.

There seem to be broadly two kinds of human intelligence. One is imitative intelligence, which is represented by the status quo and taught in schools and universities as well as adhered to by mainstream society. The other is creative intelligence, which is insightfully questioning, contemplative and is generally non-separative with a coherent world view and beyond. This more coherent view, is surely the direction for a viable future for humanity.

A relatively simple action can dramatically increase our innate intelligence, which also has the added benefit of making us more humane… When we look beyond our judgments to consider other options about what we believe, see or experience, then instantly our awareness enlarges, our compassion grows, and our intelligence increases. The opposite of course is also true, if we continue to habitually look with judgmentalness.

The intelligence of wisdom is naturally embraced because it feels somehow innate; somehow already deeply known. Whereas the tedious, often life-denying efforts required to learn standardised knowledge is of an intelligence that does not feel innate at all. If we are to evolve to a more wisdom-based planet, surely our current and historically-based education system needs to be reborn and made more sapien-centred.

The more intense our experience, usually the more consequential our life lessons will be. It is time for us to become mindful, our lessons have become more potent.

Intimacy
- 1.
Intimacy arises from the desire to be open to another, as well as allow another to enter our innermost recesses. We are either open to intimacy or closed – either way it is a decision on some level. If we are unsure, we may ask, “What is my inner truth here?”
