The driving force of a cynical attitude can perhaps arise in anyone that has unsuccessfully attempted to dominate the world in which they live. This can become a form of egomania, with the desire to place themselves above others. However, their failure results in a contemptuous, pessimistic, disbelieving, selfish and sarcastic view of the world.
