| Monkey Mind

Some spiritual practitioners say to calm the chattering, monkey mind by giving it a job to focus on, particularly to focus on the breath at the nostrils, which can lead to a meditative calm. This is a very useful meditative focus. Another way to a centred, calming, whole mind and body practice, is to place the focus upon the middle of the chest and heart, as much as possible throughout the day, so that a slightly palpable sense Is felt there, whilst also breathing softly. This both enlightens and enlivens our heart energy, which some Scientists now regard as being a second brain. This practice tends to bring peace to ourselves, as well as compassion in our approach towards all others and nature.
