There seems to be no such thing as a black and white situation that is free of some sort of doctrine, along the thought-lines of there only being positive or negative, and the polarised opinions such doctrines can generate. The diversity of the many shades of grey, or of beyond into the rainbow colours, is lost to closed minds and stubborn thoughts. However, the doctrine of black and white, also blatantly exposes the contrast that likely needs to be expressed beyond them.
