Many of us find it somewhat difficult to be comfortable in our own skin, or in other words, our sense of self. This is understandable, in terms of trying to find comfort in one’s own ego, as an ultimate statement of who we are, when deep down, many of us know that we are more than our ego. So, how do we find comfort in our own skin? One answer is to use our ego’s multifaceted acting talent, yet in a particularly refined manner. In other words we mindfully, honourably, and perhaps heartfully assume the character that best suits our true nature. With such a focus, we become present, and live in presence. This brings comfort, contentment, and a calm surety. We begin to hold this character as a statement of who we believe we really are whilst on earth, and then continually refine it.
