| Sharing 1

It is impossible for us to divide the earth equally among its inhabitants, for how can we apportion the air, the water, or the land? Yet each of us is a shareholder in it, as much as the earth itself is a holder of us. The share we are given is a most flexible one that exists momentarily in the present; it is that upon which we walk each day; that from which we breathe; and that from which we eat and drink. And because we are constantly changing shares with one another, our accountability is to make our share wholesomely beneficial, not only for ourselves, but also for those who follow. This is the only way such a share becomes viable for us all.
