We are all very unique individuals and yet many of us live according to the collective beliefs of society, to which we often blindly or unknowingly adhere. These collective beliefs occur around such things as nationalism, sexism, feminism, ageism, religion, technology, politics, and so on. These ism’s operate on a largely black and white belief system, where basically, “I’m right and your not.” These beliefs may be absorbed regardless of a persons experience, because collective beliefs are so predominant in society. Yet ideally, we are here to be creative, free thinking individuals; we don’t have to live according to narrow collective beliefs.
